Stretching along the river Borjomula, the city park contains a source of mineral water Borjomi. In the front part of the park there are entertainment and a cafes, and the back of the park is an excellent place for walking. If you continue the asphalted part for another 2.5 km, you will reach the hot springs, where you can swim. The superb beauty of nature around the springs makes it a worthwhile trip. Near the entrance there is an opportunity to use the cable car to go up the plateau, from where a magnificent view of the Borjomi opens.
Visit the Borjomi Kharagauli national park. The largest national park in Georgia. For a free entrance ticket and a map of the area (including all of the routes and shelters), head to the park's administration office. ID is not required for the ticket. If you want to hike in the national park be sure to take ample food and water along with some basic sleeping gear, as the cabins are very basic. It is a one day hike from Borjomi to Qvabiskhevi (or the other way around), from where you can hitchhike or take a local bus or taxi back to Borjomi. It is also possible to take multiple day hikes, up to the park's higher points (up to 2600 meters).
Hiking, horse riding, cycling, cultural and educational tours are also available in Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park tourist route network. The network amounts to 400-2,642 meters. The routes are provided with tourist shelters, picnic spots and camping sites.
The Green Monastery. An ancient monastery just outside of town. Walk, hitchhike, or bargain with a taxi to take you there (it isn't far, 10 laris should do it for a return trip). A short hike through the woods will bring you to the monastery. Very small, but beautiful.
The Romanov summer palace in Likani, located at the west end of the town of Borjomi in the Borjomi Gorge is one of the attractions to visit during your visit to Borjomi.
Distance from Tbilisi to Borjomi is about 160 km (99.4 miles) and the trip takes about 2 hours 20 minutes by car.
You can get to Borjomi from Tbilisi, Gori or Mtskheta by train. Or you can go to Didube auto station where you can find minibuses that depart to Borjomi.
Minibuses also go from the main bus station in Batumi to Borjomi and vice-verse. The ride is about 3 hours.
